THE IDOLM@STER組曲 (Kumikyoku) 7th Anniversary Live Special

Nico First Part

Nico Last Part

Watched this really fun stream that consisted of hour long medleys plus some talk between with Eriko Nakamura, Kami (Naomi Wakabayashi) and two song composers. The two who were there are Koji Nakagawa and Tetsuya Uchida. During the medleys themselves, there were comments from lyricists and other composers (probably) too. Except they were online only. Some included were yura and mft. There were also the typical merchandise marketing plus the 2nd PV of Shiny Festa was reaired.

I believe the first medley was filled with songs used during the 7th Anniversary Live. All very recognizable songs including the ever so prominent READY!! of course. They even had a Te-te-te part.

They had a second mini-medley filled with very new songs including the recently released Cinderella Master albums, plus the M@STER versions of both "Kyun~ Vampire Girl" and "Nanairo Botan"! Nanairo Botan sounded great and I'm looking forward to the full version in September.

The final medley was a mix of a lot of different songs, starting out with anime original songs and the nice Perfect Idol songs. Then I believe it followed with various songs used in the anime. It even had the ever so beautiful "Yakusoku" TV version plus "Watashitachi wa Zutto... Deshou?" and "Issho". I don't quite remember the final song, but it ended... until we all called for an encore! Then it went with a mix of the favorite encore songs: Go My Way!!, THE iDOLM@STER, CHANGE!!!! and READY!!

What I loved about the medleys were the ridiculous amounts of scrolling comments, plus the comments by the voice actors, the DJ behind all this, and the composers and lyricists. I have never watched one of these Kumikyoku's before, so this experience was very fun and fresh to me. The comments changed colours whenever it is a certain idol or idol group's song. Following their main colours, although it was a bit tough to do Makoto's colour since it wasn't part of the free colour comment set. The comments basically made this into some net concert with all the lyrics following along and the "Hai hai hai" comments as well. The comments kept on going well after the official part of the stream was over, ending with over 1.9 million comments.

Chihya Sings feat. Yukipo

It's Chihya and Yukipo doing an enka, drum, trumpet performance. Ah Puchidols are so cute. Plus the omake of neverending Harukasan and the tokachi duo Koami and Komami doing random throwing.

A good relaxing video. Something to... distill the bad thoughts about the whole Kokoro Connect thing going.

Ehehe~ Happy Makomakorin~ Birthday!

It's everyone's favorite tomboy princess' birthday! Happy Birthday to Makoto! Even if it's a little bit late in terms of Japan time. She's cute yet boyish or boyish yet cute, and she's great for all those aspects and more!

This little video is another one of those human-powered vocaloid songs. It's "KISSして" (Kiss Shite) with Makoto of course. Very nicely made indeed. And I'm sure I've heard this song somewhere before, but I just can't put my finger on it.

IM@S: Punishment Game, Merchandise, Karaoke

A bit late, but I watched the recorded version of the recent Idolm@ster live on the Bandai Namco Live channel.

The link to the first part on niconico is here.

Filled with almost all of the Idolm@ster voice actors, except for the usual Chiaking and Kugyu. They all wore yukata as well so that was a nice sight to see.

Team Wasshoi vs Team UuU~, who would win? Wasshoi led by Eriko, UuU~ led by Akky. You'd have to watch the whole 3 hour thing yourself because it's lots of fun.

The karaoke at the end was quite fun though. Seeing the scores for Nu and Harami were... interesting to say the least.

And of course there's the new PV for Shiny Festa, filled with loads of the 3 new OVA episodes and a bit of the music videos used in the game. Looking forward to that.

Dragon + Blacksmith; Cooking + Partying

Finished the latest two episodes of Sword Art Online today.

Episode 7 was with a blacksmith girl called Lizbeth or Lisbeth depending on the romanization. She was quite cute. I wonder if she even shows up later since she's a friend of Asuna. Though this was probably another side-story.

Episode 8 was finally the start of the main story I believe. Starting with good moments between Kirito and Asuna. Or actually, it was pretty much Kirito and Asuna the whole episode. Finally reaching higher floors! Plus the whole ingredient and cooking part were fun.

A Simple Time at Cos & Effect 2012

At first I thought I would be disappointed.

Turns out it was a lot more fun than I expected. Met some great people and did some fun stuff. The Cosplay Idol was also much better than last year.

Simply fun.

Twin Sisters Dance + Sing Kyun! Vampire Girl

So I saw these twins, Ally and Sally, during Anime Revolution. I was quite impressed so I looked them up a bit more. Turns out they sung and dance "Kyun! Vampire Girl" from Idolm@ster. And it's pretty nicely done too. I hope to see more of these two in the future.

iM@S The Start!!

Oh my, I should really pay attention to these MMD Cups some more. Perhaps this and the video from yesterday could be a fan preview to the Band mode of Shiny Festa.

Tiny Japanese Book Loot

So today I got a chance to get even more Japanese books. This time at a not-so-local Kinokuniya.

My loot was small.

Only got one thing and it was cheap. At least it was some Negima. The rest were at the usual marked up prices. Though not too bad, but I can probably get them somewhere else. I did see some good selection of popular light novels though. Almost always the hardest thing for me to find in a bookstore, but it was easier here.

In other book-related news, I had a chance to check out the Haruhi hardcover novel and the Spice & Wolf novels. The hardcover Haruhi was pretty much what I expected and the cover looks quite nice. The Spice & Wolf novels include that not so great original English cover, but this time you can just slip them off for some good old Japanese cover underneath.

I also found the first of the Book Girl series: Book Girl and the Suicidal Mime. Too bad most of the copies I saw were in pretty bad shape. Maybe I'll just look online for it, as the quality will probably be better.

An old video feature the vocals of Asami Shimoda in the huge range that she can produce.

Symbiotic Head Crabs and Girls

Aka. Alien Nine (or Alien 9, the official Japanese way)

Not quite head crabs, but the comparison does come to mind. I just finished reading volume 1 of Alien Nine. I was expecting tons of really dark things to happen, especially considering how it was compared to Madoka sometimes. Turns out the dark things are there, but it is subtly crawling it's way up from subtext, as it nears the end of the volume.

To quickly summarize a bit, Yuri is an school girl who pretty much got voted into this group called the "Alien Party". This group hunts aliens that show up in their school. Seemingly odd, she's more worried about the gross alien versus the actual hunting at first. The group of three all have to "wear" these aliens called "Borg" on their heads. These Borg have some drill-like tendrils that can be used in a variety of situations such as for protecting them or grabbing aliens. By using non-lethal methods they try to capture them. Seems alright for the two originally in the group: Kumi, the independent girl who you can lean towards to guidance and Kasumi the genius girl who does this for kicks. Yuri, however, just constantly whines and cries because she really does hate doing this. I would too if I knew that there were more people involved than what they know.

I look forward to reading or perhaps watching the rest of Alien Nine. Quite weird, but with very interesting ideas.

Me at Anime Revolution Day 3

The Final Day of the Revolution.

*Warning. Some information may be slightly or greatly erroneous or exaggerated due to memory, shock, and other such reasons. Grammar and spelling may also eb na issue.*

To start off I rushed to downtown to return a DVD. Then I rushed to the convention for Jouji Nakata's autograph signing session. I was so nervous about it, especially since I had no awesome print or official stuff for him to sign. In the end he signed my convention pass on the front. It was still great, and he seemed really nice. I had a quick photo taken with him too so that was quite awesome. I gave him a nervous "Arigato" in the end though. Big failure on my part for not being polite enough, but I blame it on my nervousness. Great man with a great voice and laugh.

Next up is looking for last day deals at the Dealers Hall. The place selling tons of manga had a 5 for $25 deal, so I picked up some Scrapped Princess novels since I completely forgot they existed, along with only two volumes of R.O.D. Read or Die and one volume of Read or Dream. Too bad though, since I just saw an unopened Volume 4 of Read or Die plus Volume 3, but someone grabbed it before me. Volume 1 of both seem very rare compared to the later ones. Manga was all I bought, since everything else seemed too expensive for me.

After that, and after visiting some friends, I went straight to the Sugar panel line-up. Quite a bit of people lining up for her. The panel itself was tons of fun, as Sugar just oozed with personality. Of course this was also a semi-promo for the new movie that she's going to be starring in. R-rated stuff that will "corrupt" our memories of Sugar on YTV's The Zone. She gave out some "free swag" that are also promotional items for the new movie. We heard about what she's been up to, various memories, and how she got into voice acting and such. Hearing about her dream of acting, and having to give up her days in The Zone to find opportunities in Los Angeles, was quite moving. In general this panel was nostalgia on overdrive, so it was bittersweet at times, but still tasted like Sugar. Afterwards, I had the great opportunity to get my picture taken with her. So happy.

Following that panel, I did a beeline to the next Jouji Nakata panel, "The Dark Side of Jouji Nakata." There were a lot of people in this panel too. There were various questions asked, some good questions about his experiences with old anime like Escaflowne and even one about X, though he couldn't remember much about X. The Escaflowne one was a big memory for him, considering he got to be in such a great anime that he himself would probably consider to be in his top 10 greatest anime. A funny moment was when he and either Tomokazu Seki or Minami Takayama were graced with the middle-school aged Maaya Sakamoto. They were like "kawaii nee~ kawaii nee~" about her back then. Memories of who he was with was blurred together with other questions he was asked. Such as his relationship with one of the actors where he was the one being "bullied", but that got flipped in a later role. Some voices and lines he got to do included Alucard's laugh, "THIS IS! SPARTA!" in Japanese, some Giroro stuff, plently of Otoo-san suffering from Yamada-san, some Fate/Zero lines, and him as the Pope Innocentius from Horizon telling Masazumi to act more like a girl since she is a girl. When someone asked what he did in Vancouver over the past few days, he talked about how he went up to Whistler by car. He would've loved to reach the top, but alas it was already quite late when he was close. All in all in was great and kind of funny how this "Dark Side" ended up with lots of lighthearted moments.

After that I just hung around with some friends, just resting from the festivities and waiting for the Closing Ceremonies to come. Restings and then getting back out to the main hall. I didn't have the will to take too many photos, but I did at least take one of the Kirito and Asuna from Sword Art Online. After that was just a mini-photo shoot with a few people.

Then I went back to the Dealers to get a quick peek at the last minute sales. Right before the entrance, they were giving out free Yen Press posters with various manga like Black God (Kurokami) or Zombie Loan (by Peach-Pit). That quick peek ended up lasting more than 30 minutes, but I got 3 more manga for $10. Pretty nice since it included Twin Spica, one of the series I wanted to collect since it is amazing and it was going out of print due to lack of sales.

Finally or not, I joined the very long line-ups for the closing ceremony. The line-up room had probably 6 different line-ups all going to the same event. That was quite a lot of people. Probably waited for 45 minutes or so until we got in as they attempted and succeeded at combining two ballrooms into one mega room for all to sit and watch.

Then closing ceremonies were almost here, but first it was the Anime Revolution Idol Finale. It started with twins singing and performing the original Pretty Cure song. Absolutely great performance with tons of energy, as I can imagine them being idols or something very easily. The next one was a Lightning cosplayed who sang a nice balladish song. Nice voice as well, though of course the energy is completely different. Finally was another singer that I seem to recognize from Anime Evolution two years ago who sang some really long song with a some operatic bits. Her voice seemed airy (is that the word?) and that was quite a unique performance. I'll definitely be looking forward to future performances of the twins Ally & Sally.

From that there was an intermission performance by the Jeremy guy who does some silly performances. This one was with an Ayumi Hamasaki song. Quite unique. Then the winners for the Idol were announced: Twins first, confused about the order for the next two.

After that was the top 3 AMV contest winners. They may as well be called Spoiler Music Videos, since that's what I felt when I watched them. Though the 3rd place Eden of the East one was more subtle and less about the overarching plot and more about the relationship. Lots of repeated effects was kind of jarring, but the editing seemed solid. Number 2 was a Clannad music video with lots and lots of tears everywhere. Also spoilers everywhere, but that's fine for me since I watched that show a few years back. Almost made it looked like the main plot had Okazaki going out with tons of girls only to be with Nagisa in the end. At least that's what it made me feel other than the whole following the sad lyrics stuff. Lastly, the 1st prize winner was a Madoka video. Yet another spoiler filled video, but I guess that's OK since those who haven't watched it can't quite connect the dots without words. Pure instruments and no singing made it unique in that fashion, though I didn't exactly see it as something super amazing. It would only be amazing because the source was.

And after that and  there was a random Brony song that I don't know much about but it had a pink one singing about smiles. Somewhere between one of these was a weird raffle things that had to do with the bingo sheets. Only one guy filled it all in apparently.

Finally, there was a little thank you video by Jouji Nakata completely in English! This was followed by a so-called summary video of the last 3 days of Anime Revolution. Basically, all that happened was a dance party. Specifically the "1000 Revolutions" rave that happened last night. Of course this is not exactly true, but the video did have many clips of that, plus small snippets of the other aspects. Closing remarks by the president and such happened and the convention was over.

Bus back home to eat some actual dinner for once.

Then sleep. Or writing this blog post. Or rewriting this blog post so it's not so long and personal. Stupid amounts of details for one thing and a lack of details in many others.

Me At Anime Revolution Day 2

Day 2. Much better than day 1. Wore a silly shirt.

20th Anniverary for Sailor Moon! The Sailor Moon dub cast was here including Mars, Jupiter, Moon, Artemis (the cat), Mini-Moon, and Tuxedo Mask. Names? Search them up yourself. But I'll update this later, I can't remember exactly off the top of my head, except for Sugar. All the nostalgia it induced. Starting with a performance of the Sailor Moon theme, and another song plus a ballad song by the guy crossplaying as Sailor Moon. Lots of fun and informative stuff like the various catchphrases, talking about the industry and what not. I'm looking forward to the new series coming out next year. True "simulcasting" this time.
[Update] So the guests that came were, in order of introductions, Katie Griffin (Mars), Susan Roman (Jupiter), Terri Hawkes (Moon), Ron Rubin (Artemis), Sugar Lyn Beard (Mini Moon), and Vincent Corazza (Texedo Mask).

Vendors and more vendors. Spotted some stuff (manga) to buy tomorrow. Contemplated going to Maid/Cosplay Cafe, but the line-up was confusing and the prices were expensive as usual.

Walking around appreciating the cosplay. Lost my chance to take some of a Velvet and Gwendolyn from Odin Sphere. More Touhou like Remilia, Flandre with glasses, Marisa. Sadly no Cirno. There were still the Manrisa, Reiman, and Alice-man. Gintama crew there. Of course Sailor Moon and co.

Afternoon, went to "The Bright Side of Jouji Nakata" with Jouji Nakata. He's known for Alucard from Hellsing, Kirei Kotomine from Fate/series, Diethard (the reporter guy) from Code Geass, Giroro from Sgt. Frog, and lots of other things. That deep voice. So very nice. Doing the voice for Giroro for us was quite funny. The funniest moment in my opinion was when he was asked to tell us which character in his series was the most "moe". The answer? Otoo-san from Working!! Aww, he's so moe searching for his wife forever. Another one was when he saw a Zero cosplayer and acknowledged him right away. The back and forth between them was short but fun. Plenty of Fate series questions asked, along with a few Hellsing stuff. Apparently the shows he watched recently include AKB0048, Kuroko no Baske, and Uchuu Kyodai. Watches shows with familiar voice talents in them apparently. Hope to see him again tomorrow at his other panel, and perhaps get an autograph.

Hanged out with some friends and wandered as usual. Then I went to the Funimation Sneak Peek Panel. Only stayed for 30 minutes since I had to line up for the concert. It was good to see [C]: Control. There were some previews for "Anime Classics" like Ergo Proxy and Texhnolyze. Other stuff included Hetalia, Ai Yori Aoshi, Asobi ni Ikuyou (though it was some Cat whatever name in English), Freezing and Shangri La. And then I left with 30 minutes left in the panel. I wonder if they got free stuff? Some people in the Aniplex Panel apparently got Kyubey masks earlier.

Next was a long wait in line for the concert. There were 2 bands called "11 to Midnight" and "Leilica". There was also a duo of sorts at the beginning with a girl on one of those drum box things and a guy on guitar.Apparently they are called "Rewrite Jr." and it's all acoustics so it was nice. The guy also got to jam with 11 to Midnight as well. Rewrite Jr. did "Butterfly" from Digimon! That was a nice throwback to olden days. Also did a One Piece and another one I think. 11 to Midnight did two songs from Full Metal Alchemist that I don't remember the names to. Then they did two original songs. Afterwards, Leilica came out. More cover songs yay. They started with Super Driver the Haruhi Suzumiya season 2 opening. Then an FMA song I believe, followed by Fude Pen from K-on! Then they ended with a somewhat faster and more exciting version of "Melt", a Hatsune Miku song by Ryo of Supercell. That was pretty fun. They did do some mistakes, but it can't be helped. Unfortunately the whole concert was running late, so there was no encore. Too bad. Maybe next time we should get glowsticks.

After that, I decided to head home with a friend. A big Gintama fan who met another Gintama fan on the train, and they talk the whole way home.

Fun day, and now I sleep since tomorrow is the final day.

Forgive me if anything is wrong. Sleep deprivation does that.

Me at Anime Revolution Day 1

It's was ok. Lots of cosplay. No doujinshi. Sailor moon dub cast (Sugar yay!). Some Funi stuff. Delays. Homestuck trolls (greeeey, oh so grey). And got to hang out with some friends.

Tomorrow is Sailor Moon Time! And Concert Time!

The Mystery in a Virtual World Ends

This episode of Sword Art Online wraps up that little murder mystery side-story.

The concept for the "murder" or in-town PK was actually something that's actually plausible. It seemed ok to me logically, though the fact that Kirito could figure it out so quickly kind of irked me. What was even more disappointing is the logic being the actual murderer's reason for killing Griselda. Absolutely stupid, and even more so when Asuna gave that little "You treated her like a possession" speech. But whatever, that side-story's done, and up next is another side-story. More Asuna and Kirito moments I presume.

As an aside, my brother's been watching tons of One Piece lately. Surprisingly enjoyable to watch, though the "distraction" makes time fly.

From Gundam School to Ninja Gundam

I recently read volume 9 of the Gundam manga "Ecole du Ciel". For those who don't know, Ecole du Ciel is about a girl called Asuna who goes to a school called "Ecole du Ciel" in Montreal. It's a mobile suit training school, but with a hidden agenda. Starts with drama and slice of gundam school life, but it heads to space soon enough.

In volume 9, we finally get to see Le Cygne in action. Le Cygne (or Swan in French) is what the mecha designer calls a "Kunoichi Gundam". It may have taken a while, but the wait was worth it, though this Gundam is quite different from others I've seen. It has tons of little bits that add up to make it a very versatile Gundam. From a huge shield with verniers to boosters all over the thing, it can certainly move.

As for the story, it's mostly a big revival of the rivalry between Asuna and Erisia, except it's blown into overdrive with MS vs MS. Or perhaps it's MS vs MA instead. While tension rises and Erisia gets more berserk, we see an familiar face again. Then it ends with a cliffhanger as the ship they try to save gets blown to bits. Darn.

After holding off for years to read this, I finally get a chance to. Then I find out this is the final volume that Tokyopop released in English. And it was released in 2010. Plus, Tokyopop is largely defunt on the manga side and even with it's supposed revival I doubt this little series got enough attention. It is mostly for an avid Gundam fan, though I'm not exactly one myself. Hopefully I'll get a chance to continue this series in Japanese some time in the future.

Silly Arms Dealer and co.

Jormungand volume 1.

I didn't exactly think this was my cup of tea, but it ended up being better than I thought. The silly yet badass Koko, the cute little boy soldier Johan, and the eye-patched but a little crazy Valmet are some of the characters that really made the first volume. I expect pretty much everyone to be interesting, but I think the focus has been on these three.

Maybe I should watch the anime. Seeing Koko's antics and plans would be really nice to watch.

God-slayer and Athena the Death God

I just finished Campione 2 to 5 and I got to say that it had some surprising bits that kept me interested, although the general feel of the storyline doesn't seem to interest me that much at the moment.

The most interesting bit is finding out about Athena's backstory. At first I had an "I knew it!" moment when she revealed herself. The young appearance threw me off, but the owls were a pretty good indicator. I was shocked to see that Athena was actually some god of death with dark powers and the also snake powers. The snake powers sort of make sense since she have a gorgon head as a shield, but the dark powers were completely out of nowhere. This was really confusing since I've actually been reading some Greek myth stories recently and that part is not part of her background. Then the reveal happened when Godou was fighting her in his "Unlimited Golden Blade Works" place. Turns out her history was altered by Zeus, and there was some war between her and the male gods. All because of her power. Very interesting indeed. Too bad she gets defeated pretty easily, even as one of the greats.

And on to the show now. Erica is a surprisingly calculating schemer and she does not seem like her portrayal in the first episode at all. Now her interactions with Godou are pretty much as a constant seducer, while being completely honest with it. I don't know how to take this, but it is quite amusing to watch sometimes.

As for Yuri, she seems to be a fun character. Not quite as cliche with just a touch of shyness and a lot of awkwardness. I look forward to seeing her some more, as she seems to retain her character while being a part of Godou's inevitable harem.

Next episode feature some old wolf-guy and harem member #3.

2012 London Olympics Ends!

These Olympics sure seemed to go by very fast.

I watched the Closing Ceremony live and it was quite nice, though I didn't really know some of the British music that was played/sung. I liked how there's a backing choir and orchestra for the most part. Seeing the Spice Girls along with some others was a nice nostalgia hit.

Overall, from what I watched of the Olympics, it was quite nice. Although my country didn't quite get as much medals as we'd hoped, the medals we did have were so sweet. The record-breaking moments, the greats like Bolt and Phelps, and the full feeling of seeing sport done in an incredible fashion, are amazing moments that I do not want to forget. I'm looking forward to seeing the next Winter Olympics in 2014, as well as the later to come 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil. In the more near future however, I'm looking forward to seeing the 2012 Paralympic games. London 2012, you were great.

And on another non-olympic note, I recently watched the masked dark hero movie. It was quite nice.

Futari no Kioku DHTB ver.

<a href="http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm10823275">Nico</a></div>

Here's a video that I watched some time ago. KIDP's videos tend to be very nice in general, but this one in particular sticks out to me not only because of the effects in the video, but also because it's Chihaya singing Futari no Kioku. It's normally Iori's song so hearing someone other than her sing this great song is very nice.

I was going to post it if I really had nothing to post, but by watching it again I can now remember how I really liked the video and mix.

Final Exam of the 2012 Summer

Finished my last final exam. It was my only one this month actually so that made it somewhat simpler to prepare for. Too bad my motivation dropped with it being an online course.

Yay.

Also played some Dynasty Warriors 7 Xtreme Legends (Shin Sengoku Musou 6) for the PC at a friends house. Pretty fun compared to the little bit I played of 5. Then again, I only have Xtreme Legends without the story mode.

CINDERELLA MASTER 006-010 Released

It's here! August 8 is here!

No preview for Kirari, since nobody bothered to make a little video out of this week's Idolm@ster Station radio broadcast.

Now unlike the hackneyed post the last time the set got released, I'll put down my preliminary thoughts for these 5 here.

Ranko's Rhapsodia - I really like it. The feeling it has definitely represent Ranko. I especially like the little mini-talking part that shifts between Ranko-speak and normal talking. Like two sides of the same coin. The obligatory guitar solo was quite nice too.

Miku's Shall We? - This one I was looking forward to, mostly because of the jazzy feel it had. Though disappointed by the preview, the full version is a pretty nice listen. I guess Miku's voice was a bit amateur-like, but I thought it was good enough.

Kirari's Marshmallow - This is the one the was slightly more disappointing. The slowness of the song was really what irked me, not the squeaky voice. I would've assumed that Kirari's would be more high-power, but this did not deliver that. It's still cute though and I don't dislike the song, but I was just expecting a bit more Kirari to show.

Mika's Escalate - Now this was a song I surprisingly liked from the preview. Although the use of "auto-tune" or whatever normally turns me off, this is a great song for its use. Nothing much to write about other than it's a solid performance. Although her voice did sound a little like Ritsuko to me.

Uzuki's Smileing - I liked this song from the get-go and the full song did not disappoint. Kind of like Kanako's song, it's very soothing and her voice is quite a nice fit. A nice feeling indeed, I can't stop listening to it. Grinning a bit as I listen too.

Another big part of the release are the drama tracks. Ranko's is full of her signature style, while also including her "true voice" as another track. Miku's is nyantastic and really quite fun, and her voice is very fitting. Kirari's has the energy I was waiting for along with the really random Nyowa and Kirarin BEAM~ Mika's didn't seem too special to me and I'm not used to how her voice is, but it seemed ok. Uzuki's is nice, but I don't think there's anything too special other than her typical cuteness.

All in all, it was a nice release. Now go out and get it! (from your usually sources)

And time to patiently wait for the inevitable 3rd set.

[Idolm@ster?] かぼす (Kabosu)

A very cute little video featuring Usa-chan, the rabbit of Iori. Very cute, but it's more than just that.

The song is Kabosu (かぼす) by Tsukiko Amano (天野月子). Certainly going to look up more of her works.

[Idolm@ster] ColorfulPaint

Now this is an interesting medley of videos. Called "ColorfulPaint", this is all painstakingly hand-drawn by the various artists participating. They are the Colorful Painters. And it is beautiful, funny, and colorful.

A Mystery in a Virtual World

Late, but I did end up watching episode 5 of Sword Art Online on Sunday.

This episode was actually a change of pace from previous episodes. Although I hear that it is another side-story, it actually involves more than just Kirito and his solo-self. It also involes Asuna, while having minor appearances by people like Klein and Agil.

The pacing of the episode itself was actually slow for once, as it also seems to be a two-parter instead of one story squished into one episode. The side story characters seem interesting enough, and it makes me wonder whether it is actually a person or a curse or something else that has caused the mystery. I do quite like that there's interaction between Kirito and Asuna now.

At least, it very much looks like a commercial to me. Featuring Ranko's song and a bit of Kirari's song as well.

CINDERELLA MASTER 007 & 009 Extended Preview

A bit late for posting, but here's the previews for Cinderella Master 007 and 009, which are Miku Maekawa's and Mika Jougasaki's new singles/albums respectively.

But before these new ones, we have Uzuki's and Ranko's up again. Afterwards there's Miku's "Onedari shall we?" (おねだりshall we?) followed by Mika's "TOKIMEKI Escalate" (TOKIMEKIエスカレート).

Blast of Pirates and Princesses in Space

[It's Piracy Time!: Marika version]

So I got around to watching more Mouretsu/Bodacious Space Pirates. I blasted through the episodes from 4 to 13 in two days, and I can say I love it so far. The characters, especially Marika, are great fun, and the story is also moving at a nice pace even if it does seem like nothing important happens a lot of the time. Princess Gruier was also a bit different from what I expected and her story arc to find that wonderful ship was quite nice. I do hope to see more of the Yacht Club buddies though as well as Chiaki.

Next episode(s) have signs of a certain someone going back in piracy... or I could be wrong. I hope to enjoy them either way. More Chiaki please!

August 1st: A DigiDestined Day

Happy Odaiba Day!

Today, in 1999, is the day when the 7 original DigiDestined got pulled into the Digital World in Odaiba an artificial island in Tokyo, Japan. That makes it 13 years since then.

To celebrate, I ended up watching Digimon Tamers subbed with my brother. We were both somewhat big Digimon fans when we were little kids, and we still sort of are. I know it isn't the original Digimon Adventures, but Tamers was probably my favorite of all the Digimon TV series, closely followed by Adventures.

It was quite interesting to hear the voices, as they were quite similar to the ones in the dub. I really like how the Digimon series tends to keep the Digimon names very close to the original, like how "Girumon" is "Guilmon", which is pronounced almost the same. Terriermon and Renamon are also the same as well.

Also, I found out that there was a new Digimon game called Digimon World Re:Digitize for the PSP. It's almost like a spiritual successor the original Digimon World, which itself is sort of like the tamagotchi-like Digimon toys. The character designs are by the guy who does the art for Durarara and the character designs for Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor. It'd be nice if a localization or translation happened for it, but I'm a bit doubtful as the PSP doesn't seem too popular in the West nowadays.

As a side-note, I went to watch some fireworks. It was a celebration of sorts. Lots of lights. It was quite fun going with some friends.

Anyways, here's hoping I don't forget next year. It'll be Adventures time next!
